One Planet - Terms and Conditions

Welcome to One Planet, a digital platform developed by Purple IT Company and managed by Planet Protectors. This app enables individuals and organizations to sponsor tree planting, tag planted trees, and track environmental impact in a transparent and measurable way.

By downloading, accessing, or using the One Planet app, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the app immediately.

1. Definitions

App - The One Planet mobile or web application
Planet Protectors - Legal owner and operator of the app
Purple IT Company - Official developer and technology partner of the One Planet app
User / Sponsor - Any individual or organization using the app
Tree Tag - A digital record representing a planted and verified tree
Contribution / Payment - Amount paid by a user to sponsor tree planting
Verified Tree - Tree confirmed and validated by Planet Protectors after planting

2. Purpose of the App

The One Planet platform enables users to:

  • Sponsor tree planting initiatives
  • Receive a verified Tree Tag with GPS coordinates and photos (post-verification)
  • Track the growth and environmental impact of sponsored trees
  • Support ongoing conservation activities
  • View measurable carbon offset and sustainability metrics

Note:
The app is not an investment or profit-sharing program. It serves solely as an environmental conservation and awareness initiative.

3. User Eligibility Users must:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Use the app legally and ethically
  • If under 16, a parent or guardian's consent is required.

4. Plantation & Verification Policy

Tree Sponsorship

Your contribution covers:
  • Plantation in approved conservation zones
  • Maintenance and monitoring
  • Technological and verification expenses

Tree Tagging

Each verified tree record may include:
  • GPS location (approximate in restricted zones)
  • Species and date planted
  • Photographic evidence (where applicable)

Note: In sensitive forest areas, precise GPS data may be adjusted for security and anti-poaching protection.

Verification Timeframe
Tree verification and tagging may take 10 - 30 days, depending on environmental conditions and project cycles.

5. Survival & Replacement Policy

Trees are living organisms subject to natural conditions.
If a sponsored tree dies within 12 months of planting:

  • Planet Protectors will replace it at no additional cost.
  • However, refunds are not provided for natural causes of mortality.

6. Refund & Cancellation Policy

All contributions directly fund ongoing environmental programs. Therefore:

  • No refunds will be issued once payment is processed.
  • Cancellations are not permitted after confirmation.

This policy supports long-term sustainability and project integrity.

7. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

  • Use the app for lawful purposes only
  • Refrain from tampering with or misusing platform data
  • Respect conservation zones and property boundaries when visiting sites

Planet Protectors reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account involved in misuse or unethical activity.

8. Data Privacy

Planet Protectors collects and securely stores:

  • User information (name, email, phone number)
  • Tree sponsorship and activity data
  • App usage analytics

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

9. Intellectual Property

All content within the app—including logos, text, data systems, images, videos, and reports— is the exclusive property of Planet Protectors and may not be copied, distributed, or reused without written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

Planet Protectors shall not be held liable for:

  • Planting delays due to weather, terrain, or legal permissions
  • Natural disasters or wildlife interference
  • GPS inaccuracies or mapping errors
  • Third-party payment processing issues

We commit to maintaining transparency and adhering to verified conservation standards.

11. App Updates & Modifications

Planet Protectors reserves the right to:

  • Update app features and interfaces
  • Modify terms, policies, or operational methods
  • Change plantation sites or project partners

Continued app use after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Account Suspension

Accounts may be suspended or terminated for:

  • Fraudulent or misleading activity
  • Abuse, threats, or illegal use of the platform
  • Unauthorized sharing of conservation data
  • Actions harmful to the environment or the organization

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of Sri Lankan courts.
